Velindre TV launches with Life On Show.TV
Life On Show.TV is proud to announce the launch of Velindre.TV: the online TV portal for Wales’s largest non-surgical cancer hospital.
Velindre Cancer Centre is the first Cancer Centre in Europe to have a totally integrated service for patients in most need. Velindre has been providing care and support to cancer patients in South Wales for over 50 years. The staff’s tireless dedication and commitment to their patients care has seen the hospital gain recognition as a Centre of Excellence.
Every possible effort is made to ensure that each visit to Velindre is as comfortable as possible, and their experienced staff aim to provide high quality care to patients and their families.
Velindre TV has helped to extend the reach of Velindre’s support and services to web users worldwide. It gives the hospital new opportunities to promote its work and broaden its opportunities for sponsorship. Patients, families, staff and patrons also have the opportunity to interact online in a revolutionary way. Velindre TV offers anyone who has been touched by the work of Velindre the chance to relate their experiences to the wider community. The inclusive and informative content of the videos will prove a great source of comfort and information for anyone touched by cancer.
Rachel Price, Marketing Director said:
“Giving back to the community as much as possible is very important to us here at LifeOnShow.TV. The staff at Velindre really hit a chord with us and we wanted to do all we could to help them promote the Centre and raise awareness of the services they provide. We have all been touched by cancer one way or another and are more than happy to be able to donate our time and services to such a worthy cause.”
One of the aims of Velindre TV is to help demystify the processes patients and families will undergo in the course of their treatment. The stories of families, patients and staff serve to reassure new patients; introducing them to the facilities, treatments and staff at Velindre. Video testimonials and interviews give information in an easily digestible format, familiarising and disentangling potentially intimidating information. The aim to lift the weight of anticipation and apprehension is achieved by an informative and friendly series of videos.
Andrew Morris, Head of Fundraising at Velindre said:
“We are delighted to launch Velindre Fundraising TV because it’s such a great way of informing people about the things we are doing and will cover a huge range of what the hospital’s about. We’ll have areas about fundraising where people can see the type of events we’ve run previously but also get updates on the new events we’re doing and hopefully get involved and inspired by some of the images on there. The messages on there from our patrons and supporters and sponsors (which is a great way of getting them a bit of publicity as well) but also, why they want to get involved with Velindre and what Velindre means to them. We’ll also have a section on staff and this will be a whole range of staff: from nurses, consultants, doctors, volunteers, everybody involved with Velindre so they can get their message across and tell people why they think Velindre is an absolutely fantastic place to work.
